Study the fundamentals

Airspace, weather, regulations, aircraft performance, loading, and safe drone operations — the whole Part 107 knowledge area, taught by an instructor who flies for a living.

Register with the FAA

Get your FAA Tracking Number (FTN) through IACRA and schedule the knowledge exam at an approved testing center.

Pass the Part 107 exam

60 multiple-choice questions. We run practice exams until you're consistently clearing the bar, not just squeaking past it.

Complete certification

Submit your application through IACRA, clear TSA vetting, and receive your Remote Pilot Certificate — you can now legally conduct commercial drone operations.

Stay current

Complete recurrent online training every 24 calendar months to maintain your Part 107 operating privileges. We'll remind you.

Questions, answered

Yes. Any commercial drone operation in the United States — including work on your own farm as part of a business — requires an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate under Part 107.

Most students are exam-ready in two to four weeks of part-time study. Scheduling and FAA processing add a couple of weeks after that.

You must be at least 16, able to read and speak English, and in a physical and mental condition to operate safely. There is no medical certificate requirement.

Aircraft over 55 lbs and agricultural aircraft operations require additional FAA authorizations beyond Part 107. We cover what applies to the T100 and help you file.

The certificate itself doesn't, but you must complete free recurrent online training every 24 calendar months to keep operating.
